This is what I gathered from reading through this thread and put it together in step by step instructions. Hopefully this will help those looking to update their firmware for the unlocked US variant. My HTC 10 is the unlocked US variant with firmware version 1.21.617.3 that is also bootloader unlocked, S-Off, and is running LeeDroid ver.1.0.1 1) Download this file at h t t p: / / d - h. S t / H r J 7 thanks @ (This will flash stock boot, system, and recovery) 2) Rename downloaded file to '2PS6IMG.zip' (without the quotes) and place it in the root of your external SD card. 3) Download the 1.21.617.3 - 1.53.617.5 OTA file in the OP. 4) Extract the firmware.zip out of the OTA file in step 3.
5) Boot into download mode by entering this command 'adb reboot download' 6) Your device should prompt you to flash the '2PS6IMG.zip' file. Press volume down to flash that file. 7) Once the flashing process is complete, press the power button to turn off device 8) Boot into download mode by holding the volume button down while powering on your device 9) Flash the OTA firmware.zip from step 4 file by entering this command: fastboot flash zip 'path to your firmware file' 10) It will give you an 'error 90' telling you to flash the file again.
11) Phone will automatically reboot back into download mode. (This happened to me as I began to re-type in the command to flash the firmware.zip) 12) Re-enter the command: fastboot flash zip 'path to your firmware file' 13) Phone will update to latest firmware.
14) Flash TWRP by entering: fastboot flash recovery 'path to twrp.img' 15a) Reboot back into the phone and check if the firmware and baseband have been updated. (Build number 1.53.617.5 and baseband 45.00F) 15b) Delete or rename the '2PS6IMG.zip' file on your external SD card to something else so that it won't automatically ask you to flash it the next time you boot into download mode. Thanks to @ for pointing this out! Optional 16) Reboot into TWRP 17) Flash ROM of your choice. (I dirty flashed LeeDroid ROM) 18) Reboot device note: After all this I only had to setup a couple of things on my device like Adaway and a few LeeDroid tweeks.
All my other apps were untouched. Feel free to make any corrections or suggestions to this guide cause I'm still pretty noob to flashing stuff on HTC devices, but this is what worked for me. (Build number 1.53.617.5 and baseband 45.00F). I don't have an external SD card yet, so I manually flashed the boot, recovery, and system images.
Once I completed that successfully, I moved on to flashing the firmware zip, but I continually was met with an error (a different error). My phone will no longer boot. I tried factory resetting from recovery, and that didn't help. I just want to get back to plain old stock where I can get OTAs and all that plain vanilla stuff.
Coming from a nexus device, this is a lot more challenging when there's no factory images posted anywhere (I think?). I'm getting a micro SD card tomorrow. If I get the TWRP backup from OP, and can flash them from my SD card through TWRP, should I theoretically be able to go back to stock completely? Is there another way? If I make a nandroid backup in twrp and backup the data along with system, system image. Etc, is it going to work if it's restored? I did a backup before gaining s-off and root, so I have that one but that's without the data partition. I just wonder if I could backup everything with all my updated apps and messages etc. It's the official stock rom came with the phone. I have s-off, unlocked bootloader, latest twrp and stock rom with no root at moment as after sunshine I had to format data and seems like I lost root access and haven't flashed supersu yet.
